A question, one that photographers often have to face as well ... You deliberately chose to cut off part of the half-orange and part of one of the slices. Why did you think "cutting off" would enhance the image? It seems to work well here, but you don't always do a "cut-off".
I wanted to paint oranges again, but this time I was interested in painting the transparent look of a cut-off piece in front of the light. I thought different piece sizes would make the painting more interesting than all the same size. And odd number is often better, but I forgot about that when I made the setup. I could have eaten a piece before I started, hmm...
I have loved all the studies you have done of oranges. You seem to have captured the essence of that particular fruit and I am always happy when another one appears on your blog.

OOOOh! This one is great. The economy of strokes of the paint brush is lovely. The colors are nice too.Jan
