Maybe I would like this one, but the table top keeps distracting me. The edges are too strong and the table seems to go up behind the bowl instead of laying flat. How do I make the table go flat?

Johanne, I'm really enjoying your blog! How long does it take you to paint one of these panels? What do you do with them when you are done - do you have a big stack of them at home?
I spoke and then revised my idea. I really like the ellipses on the orange and the bowl. The shadow on the orange is great. With the light coming from below, the front edge of the table would be dark and get lighter as it goes back, diffuse like a regular cast shadow. The bowl is right on the edge of the table which creates tension, a "kiss" as they call it. Maybe you did it on purpose so we wonder if the bowl will fall. Otherwise I would bring the edge out a little. :) The light from below confused me at first as usually the table top is lighter, right? This is a nice painting. Nice idea for the different lighting.
