City Emergent, Oil with palette knife, 6 x 8"

Again with the palette knife and premixed paint, I wanted to be more assertive and looser with each stroke. My first reaction when I put the knife down was: okay that may be too loose... I went too far and I may have to go back the way I painted the previous one :(

I put the painting on the mantel and went to the gym. When I came back, I took a fresh look at it with a totally different reaction: I really liked it! It has grown on me since.

Johanne, Thank you for visiting my blog and your comments too. It has allowed me to find yours. I started out painting with a palette knife and have gotten away from it, but your work makes me want to get it back out. I like your frames too. Where do you get them?

Thanks for your comment Bob, I appreciate it.

Thanks Randy for comment. I'll be looking forward to seeing your palette knife work. The frames are from the JMJ Frames. It's a family owned company that comes to Austin every 3-4 months with a truck load of picture frames. You can find them on FB.

Very nice, Johanne. I like all your cityscapes and look forward to seeing even more as you continue to work with the palette knife.
