Pastel: Adobe Building

Here's a larger painting of the previous study. I really like the color of adobe buildings and the deep blue sky in New Mexico. But not sure I did it justice here. Again I had trouble keeping it as loose as the study. This is one of a very few of my paintings that is a medium value dominant.

Johanne, I like being able to look at the small and large paintings of the same scene.

In the postings of the boat on the canal and the adobe building in New Mexico, I am especially drawn to the original studies. I don't know enough about art to say why, though.

It is so compelling for me to visit your site to see "Art in the Making". I think I might even develop a "discerning eye" by reading your comments and watching an artist at work. I'd like that.
