Oil study #140 - plein air

I'm excited to show you this one too! One way to ignore the details when you start a painting is to remove your glasses. So I tried it for this painting and the previous one. In both cases I completed the painting and completely forgot to put them back on. Maybe I should keep doing it :)

How do you like it?

Oil on canvas, 6 x 8"

This is really exciting. I hope you do lots more.

Both of your plein air pieces painted without glasses are beautiful. I should try that - of course, my painting would be completely abstract! Looking forward to seeing more of your plein air paintings!

Your plein air studies are wonderful! I was told to paint shapes not trees! Easier. Ha. You are doing great!

I really, really like your latest plein air. If getting rid of the glasses is what it takes, get rid of them.

I never realised till you said this in your blog but I cannot write this comment without glasses but I never wear them to paint and it is only now I realise this is the case. UNlike you maybe I need to start wearing mine.

Nice blog I am going to follow you.

I just love these outdoor paintings, Johanne! David and I have not had easy access to computers during our recent travels. Imagine my surprise when I finally dropped in on your blog site and discovered your latest work. Somehow your accompanying comments add to my appreciation of your art, too.
